#NFLMeanGreen - Week 5 Roundup

Oct. 10, 2016

DENTON - Two of the four former Mean Green players in the National Football league were in action in Week 5, as fullback Jamize Olawale (Oakland Raiders) and linebacker Zach Orr (Baltimore Ravens) played key roles for their respective teams on Sunday. Linebacker Craig Robertson (New Orleans Saints) had a bye week and made a stop in Denton earlier in the week, while running back Lance Dunbar (Dallas Cowboys) missed the Cowboys' win over Cincinnati due to injury.

Olawale carried six times for 22 yards with a touchdown, which you can watch here, and caught one pass for two more yards in Oakland's 34-31 win over the San Diego Chargers to lift the Raiders to 4-1 on the season. Oakland hosts the Kansas City Chiefs (2-2) in a key AFC West divisional matchup this Sunday at 3:05 p.m. CT on CBS.

Orr's Ravens dropped their second consecutive game, falling to 3-2 with a 16-10 loss at home to the Washington Redskins. Orr finished with five tackles (four solo), forced a fumble and recovered it, which you can see here. Baltimore travels to New Jersey to take on the New York Giants (2-3) at noon on CBS.

Robertson's Saints (1-3) return to action this week as they host the Carolina Panthers, who head into Monday Night Football tonight against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, also at 1-3. The Saints-Panthers matchup kicks off at noon on Fox.

Dunbar's 4-1 Cowboys travel to Lambeau Field to battle the 3-1 Green Bay Packers Sunday at 3:25 p.m. on Fox. According to team owner Jerry Jones, the former Mean Green running back will be held out of action for the second straight week with left knee soreness.

MeanGreenSports.com will continue to follow the journeys of former Mean Green players in the NFL throughout the course of the regular season with updates every Monday (or Tuesday in the event that any former players are playing on Monday Night Football).
