Three Of Four Players Representing North Texas In The NFL Helped Their Teams To Wins Sunday
DENTON - Three of the four former North Texas players currently playing in the National Football League were winners on Sunday, as running back Lance Dunbar (Dallas Cowboys), linebacker Craig Robertson (New Orleans Saints) and fullback Jamize Olawale (Oakland Raiders) each helped their respective teams to victories in the NFL's Week 4. Olawale's Raiders handed linebacker Zach Orr's Baltimore Ravens their first loss of the year, as all four contributed yet again to their team's causes.
Dunbar caught a pair of passes for 14 yards and carried once for two more yards as the Cowboys won their third straight game, improving to 3-1 on the season by defeating the San Francisco 49ers 24-17 on Sunday afternoon in Santa Clara, California. Dallas returns home to host the 2-2 Cincinnati Bengals at 3:25 p.m. CT on CBS.
Orr's Ravens dropped their first game on the season, falling to 3-1 after Olawale's Raiders picked up a come-from-behind 28-27 win in Baltimore. Orr finished as the Ravens' second leading tackler, with nine stops (six solo). He now leads the team in tackles with 33 through the first quarter of the season. Olawale carried once for the Raiders, who are also 3-1. Oakland hosts AFC West foe San Diego (1-3) next Sunday in the Bay Area on CBS at 3:25 p.m. Baltimore hosts the 2-2 Washington Redskins at noon on Fox.
Robertson recorded six tackles on Sunday in a comeback win for New Orleans at San Diego, 35-34 over the Chargers. Robertson is now the NFL's fourth-leading tackler through four weeks, with 41 on the season. The Saints head into their bye week next week at 1-3.
