DENTON, Texas - After knocking off Florida Atlantic on the road, the North Texas football team looks to make it two in a row away from home as they face the Houston Cougars Saturday night at 6 p.m. at Robertson Stadium.  The game can be seen on Comcast Sports South and heard on the Mean Green Radio Network.

North Texas had its best month of September since 2003. The Mean Green won two games and the 2-3 record is the best since 2005. The Mean Green, playing in its final season in the Sun Belt before moving to Conference USA, is 1-1 or better to start Sun Belt play for the eighth time in 12 years.

Wide receiver Brelan Chancellor had a career-high 135 yards receiving in the win over Florida Atlantic. He scored on a 68-yard touchdown strike, the second longest of his career and it was the sixth time in his career he has had a reception of 30-yards or more.

North Texas can even its record at 3-3 with a win on the road at Houston. The Mean Green hasn't had a 3-3 record after six games since 2003 and it would be only the second 3-3 record since returning to FBS in 1995.

K.C. Obi had a career-high 2.5 sacks against Florida Atlantic, which was the most by a North Texas player since Adrian Awasome had three sacks against Utah State on October 9, 2004. The 2.5 sacks in a game are tied for the 11th most in the nation this season.

For the second time this season and the 19th time since 2004, North Texas is trying for its first two-game winning streak. Since the 2004 season, the Mean Green has not won two straight games. It would be the first two-game road winning streak since 2010 but only the second since 2004.

North Texas has forced at least one turnover in every game this season and enters the matchup with Houston at +6 in turnover margin, which is 23rd in the nation. Conversely, Houston is a -6 in turnover margin this season, which is 109th in the country. North Texas has only had five turnovers through the first five games, which is tied for 24th fewest in the nation.

Through the first five games, the Mean Green has held three of its first five opponents to 14 points or less. It's the first time since 2005 that a North Texas defense has done that and only the third time since 1990.
