Football Hosts Troy Live On ESPN2

With losses in its last two games, North Texas (1-2, 1-0) returns home to face Troy (1-3, 0-0) for the first time as a Sun Belt Conference opponent on Tuesday, Oct. 4 at 6:30 pm. The game will be televised on ESPN 2 with Dave Barnett on play-by-play and Craig James providing analysis.

The Mean Green is currently tied with Boise State for the nation’s longest conference winning streak at 26. North Texas has won four straight conference titles and has played in four consecutive bowl games. The Trojans are coming off their first bowl appearance in the program’s inaugural year of action in the Sun Belt. Troy opened the season with a win against Cal Poly, but has since dropped three straight to Alabama-Birmingham, Missouri and South Carolina.

The series with the Trojans is tied at a game apiece, with each team winning at home. Troy took the first meeting in the final regular-season game of 2001. The Trojans knocked off a bowl-bound Mean Green squad 18-16. North Texas returned the favor in 2003 with a 21-0 win at Fouts Field.
