North Texas will be on the national stage Tuesday, October 16, when the Mean Green hosts Louisiana-Lafayette at Apogee Stadium on the campus of the University of North Texas in Denton. The game will be televised on ESPN2, the first nationally-telecast game from Apogee.
The North Texas Fan Guide (www.northtexasfanguide.com) contains details of this special evening, and it will continue to be updated right up until the 8 p.m. kickoff.
Among those details is a special ESPN2 For Tuesday ticket offer: two tickets for $10. These are general admission seats in Apogee Stadium's signature wing-shaped section at the north end of the stadium. North Texas has also partnered with several Denton businesses to offer this ticket special, and links and promotional codes are available on the Fan Guide.
As at every home football game, tailgating will take place on The Hill, in all parking lots adjacent to Apogee Stadium, in the Fouts Field lot, and on the main campus. The pedestrian bridge over I-35E connecting Apogee with the Fouts parking lots is scheduled to be completed and open for this game.
The Athletic Department and the North Texas Police are working to determine the hours that the Fouts Field parking lots will be available for tailgating on Tuesday. That lot is extensively used by students and faculty on weekdays and would normally be full most of the day on Tuesday, but it will be closed and emptied of non-game traffic earlier on Tuesday.
ESPN2 is giving significant coverage to a pivotal stretch in the Sun Belt Conference schedule, nationally televising league games on consecutive weeks. The October 16 game pits North Texas against Louisiana-Lafayette, which went to the New Orleans Bowl a year ago and is a contender for the Sun Belt championship this year.
