Kidsy Named C-USA Special Teams Player Of The Week

Sept. 22, 2014

DENTON – After his dazzling special teams performance in the win over Nicholls this past Saturday, sophomore Darvin Kidsy has been named the Special Teams Player of the Week by Conference USA.

Kidsy had the best day in his young career as a return specialist, returning three punts for a total of 132 yards (an average of 44.0 yards per return), including a 75-yard return for a touchdown.

It was the fourth-longest punt return for a touchdown in FBS football this year and the sixth-longest punt return in North Texas history. He also had returns of 31 and 26 yards on the day. His punt return average of 44.0 yards is the best single-game performance by a returner in Conference USA this season. His 75-yard touchdown on a return was the longest at North Texas since 2004.

Kidsy joins Trevor Moore as the other NT players to earn Player of the Week honors this season. The Mean Green football team has a bye week before returning to the field on October 4 at Indiana.
