North Texas Hits The Road For The Third Time This Season

North Texas (0-3) concludes its non-conference schedule with a game at Baylor (1-1) on Saturday evening. Kickoff at Floyd Casey Stadium in Waco is scheduled for 6p.m. The game can be heard live on KWRD (100.7 FM) and KNTU (88.1 FM) in Dallas/Forth Worth.

North Texas fell to 0-3 with a 52-21 loss at Colorado. The Mean Green exploded for 507 yards of total offense against the Buffaloes after accumulating just 411 yards of total offense in the first two games combined. The North Texas defense has struggled through the first three games, allowing an average of 572 yards of total offense, including nearly 300 yards of rushing per game.

Baylor had last Saturday off after starting the season with a loss at Alabama-Birmingham and a win over Texas State at home. The Bears have allowed an average of 405.5 yards of total offense per game and have been plagued by turnovers on offense, throwing five interceptions and losing three fumbles in two games.

Baylor leads the series with North Texas 11-1 with the Mean Green’s only win coming last season in Denton. The series began in 1922 and the first 10 meetings were all played in Waco, with Baylor winning all 10. The two teams met in Denton in 2000 and 2003. In each of the 12 games, the winning team has scored at least 20 points and the losing team has never scored more than 20. The largest margin of victory was a 55-0 Baylor win in 1922 and the highest scoring game was last year’s 52- 14 Mean Green win.
