#NFLMeanGreen: Week 2 In The Books
Craig Robertson's Saints Fall In Home Opener
DENTON - Week two of the National Football League season is in the books, and MeanGreenSports.com has you covered for 2017's second regular season installment of #NFLMeanGreen.
For the second straight week, one of the three former North Texas players in the NFL, New Orleans Saints linebacker Craig Robertson, saw action this week. Oakland Raiders fullback Jamize Olawale missed his second consecutive game due to a quad issue and Los Angeles Rams running back Lance Dunbar remains out with a knee injury and is on the PUP/Reserve list, meaning the earliest he can return to the field is Week 7.
Robertson's Saints (0-2) fell 36-20 in their home opener to the defending Super Bowl Champion New England Patriots (1-1), and though he served as a team captain and played, Robertson did not record any statistics. New Orleans travels to Charlotte for what appears to be a pivotal early-season NFC South showdown with the Carolina Panthers (2-0), Sunday at 12 p.m. CT at Bank of America Stadium live on Fox.
Olawale's Raiders improved to 2-0 after a comfortable 45-20 win in their home opener against the New York Jets (0-2). Oakland hits the road to travel to take on the Washington Redskins (1-1) on Sunday Night Football at 7:30 p.m. on NBC.
The Rams (1-1) fell at home, 27-20 to Washington last week and travel north to the Bay Area to take on the 0-2 San Francisco 49ers on Thursday Night Football at 7:25 p.m. on NFL Network.
Be sure to follow the former Mean Green players in the NFL throughout the remainder of the regular season here on MeanGreenSports.com each Tuesday.
