Mean Green Football Team To Play Saturday For A Special Cause
DENTON - This week’s game vs. Nicholls will be the Coach to Cure MD game for the Mean Green coaching staff and it will take on a special meaning. In partnership with Coach The Cure MD, Coach Dan McCarney and the Mean Green football team honor Corbin Fanning and Michael Hope in their battle against Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy.
Sept. 27 is the day college football coaches around the country will support the cause by wearing patches. Because North Texas doesn’t play on Sept. 27th Dan McCarney and his staff will take part in the effort this week vs. Nicholls.
Fanning and his family will be special guests of the Mean Green coaching staff Saturday, including locker room visits and sideline access during pregame.
This will be the sixth consecutive year the American Football Coaches Association have created a day of awareness to help support research projects in an effort to find a cure for Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy.
