KAFR Joins The Mean Green Radio Network

DENTON (9/15/05) The Mean Green Radio Network has announced the addition of KAFR-FM in Houston to the lineup for the 2005-06 season football and men’s basketball season. KAFR, a 100,000 watt radio station, will carry all of the regular season and postseason games for North Texas football and men’s basketball games.

“We are really excited to begin this relationship with KAFR" said North Texas Senior Associate Athletic Director Hank Dickenson.  "The Houston market is so important for North Texas, both from an alumni as well as a recruiting perspective. This is a great addition to the Mean Green Radio Network and we look forward to broadcasting in Houston starting on Saturday".

Along with KAFR, the Mean Green Radio Network reaches the entire Metroplex, as far north as Oklahoma City, and in simulcast from Tyler-Longview spanning as far as Shreveport and the entire Houston metro area.

The Mean Green Radio Network will reach 10 million listeners throughout the football and men's basketball season.

Each North Texas broadcast will begin with a 30-minute pre-game show with the “Voices of the Mean Green” George Dunham and Hank Dickenson.
