#NFLMeanGreen - Week 1 Roundup
Several Former Mean Green Players In The NFL Had Great First Weeks
DENTON - The NFL season kicked off this past week and four former Mean Green players each made an impact for their respective teams during the opening week of the season. Dallas Cowboys running back Lance Dunbar made his first appearance since Week 4 of last year, while linebacker Craig Robertson (New Orleans Saints), linebacker Zach Orr (Baltimore Ravens), and fullback Jamize Olawale (Oakland Raiders) all saw significant time in Week 1.
Robertson led the Saints in tackles with 11 (eight solo) in New Orleans' 35-34 loss to Olawale's Raiders. Speaking of Olawale, he made his one touch on the day count, scoring on a physical, two yard run in the third quarter. Watch his touchdown here. Oakland returns to the Bay Area for its home opener against the 0-1 Atlanta Falcons a 3:25 p.m. CT on CBS, while the Saints head to the northeast to take on the 1-0 New York Giants at noon on Fox.
Orr posted six tackles (five solo) for the Ravens in their 13-7 win at home over the Buffalo Bills. Baltimore heads to Cleveland next week to take on the Robert Griffin III-less Browns, who are 0-1, at noon on CBS.
Dunbar made his return to the field for the first time in nearly a calendar year on Sunday, and made one catch for 16 yards for the Cowboys, who dropped a tight divisional matchup, 20-19 to the Giants. The Cowboys face another divisional foe, the Redskins, who play tonight against the Pittsburgh Steelers on Monday Night Football, at noon on Fox.
