Beyond The Green Is Back

Sept. 1, 2016

DENTON - The award-winning television series "Beyond The Green" is back.

Tailored after HBO's "Hard Knocks" and ESPN's "All-Access," "Beyond The Green" gives viewers a look inside North Texas football. This year's first episode will take a look at the hiring of Seth Littrell and his transition from North Carolina offensive coordinator to Mean Green head coach.

The show will air on Fox Sports Southwest, with the first episode airing today, Thursday, Sept. 1, at 4 p.m. Fox will air the show in different time slots through September, then move it into a permanent slot at 4 p.m. on Thursdays beginning in October.

There will be 13 episodes this year.

The goal of "Beyond The Green" is to humanize the Mean Green's players and coaches and present the story lines that develop throughout the season. The executive producer of the show is Ashton Campbell, an NT graduate who has produced shows for CBS College Football Confidential, the Big Ten Network and Yahoo Sports.

"Beyond The Green" won the Outstanding Special Feature Award at the 2014 College Sports Media Award show in May over entries from Colorado, Duke, Florida State, Minnesota, Notre Dame, Oklahoma, Oregon, Portland and San Francisco.

"Beyond The Green" can be seen on Fox Sports Southwest and online at MeanGreenSports.com.
