NT Fans Called to Wear Green This Friday

DENTON, Texas (08/30/2012) – This Friday, Aug. 31, North Texas fans across the nation are encouraged to show their school spirit by wearing anything green and white for national College Colors Day. And we mean anything including hats, earrings, T-shirts, ties, watches or something that shows support for your beloved Mean Green.

College Colors Day gives you an excuse to throw a preseason tailgate party, have a friendly inter-office competition between rival schools or just a reason to support the team that has brought you excitement over the years.  Be sure to check out the new Official Online Store of the Mean Green Athletics for all of your green and white merchandising needs.

College Colors Day coincides with Green Pride Fridays and marks the start of the Mean Green football season. The Mean Green will travel to Baton Rouge to take on the LSU Tigers Saturday at 6 p.m. North Texas fans can catch the game on ESPNU.

College Colors Day, which is organized by The Collegiate Licensing Company (CLC), celebrates the kick-off of the college football season and promotes higher education – celebrating the achievements of colleges and universities by putting the spirit and traditions of the college experience at the center of national attention.

This year, College Colors Day is bigger than ever: with 200 universities, the NCAA, and thousands of stores representing the nation’s top retailers participating.  Indeed, on Aug. 31, College Colors Day will be hard to miss.
