Khan And Gunter Awarded Scholarships By Coach McCarney
Mean Green Walk-on Program Awards 33rd And 34th Scholarship Since 2011
DENTON – North Texas football coach Dan McCarney has cultivated one of the best walk-on programs in the nation and this past weekend he added two more players to scholarship. Wide receiver Daniel Khan and offensive lineman Garrett Gunter were the 33rd and 34th players to earn scholarships from Coach McCarney.
“Daniel and Garrett are two more examples that dreams can come true at North Texas,” McCarney said. “I’m very proud to award our 33rd and 34th scholarships to men that represent the character, grit and winning attitude that we want in our program.”
Khan, a freshman from California, arrived at North Texas last summer and spent the 2014 season as a redshirt. Gunter is a transfer from Trinity Valley Community College and joined the program in the spring of 2015.
