My Summer Gig: Ryan Rentfro Calling Them Out

Aug. 10, 2015

College athletes are constantly under the spotlight during the season, but it's the work these students do away from the court or field that often goes unnoticed. Whether helping with a camp, volunteering or working part time, student-athletes have numerous responsibilities to juggle during the summer as they prepare for the coming season.

For the past month, MeanGreenSports.com has given you an inside look into the summer jobs of North Texas student-athletes.

You think calling balls and strikes is easy? North Texas offensive lineman Ryan Rentfro is gearing up for 2015 football season, but he’s a huge fan of baseball.

A multi-sport star in his youth, Rentfro has played the sport nearly all his life, but now has taken that passion and become an umpire in his spare time.
