Young Alumni Program Offers Discounted Tickets To Recent Grads
2017 Graduates Eligible For Two Free Football Season Tickets
DENTON - The North Texas Athletic Department has announced a football season-ticket promotion for those who graduated from UNT within the last five years, a program that includes two free tickets for 2017 alumni.
Anyone who graduated from the University of North Texas in 2017 is eligible for two free 2017 Mean Green football season tickets. Those who graduated from North Texas between 2013 and 2016 are eligible for the Young Alumni discount ticket program, which offers up to two season tickets for $50 each. Tickets are for seats in sections 119, 120 and 121 of Apogee Stadium, near the student section.
"We believe a key to our growth and sustainability is growing our season ticket base," North Texas Vice President of Intercollegiate Athletics and director of athletics Wren Baker said. "We have strong student attendance at games and they bring incredible passion and energy to Apogee Stadium. We also know recent graduates are faced with finding a job and securing a place to live as they take the next step in life. We want to make it easy for them to transition into season-ticket holders and supporters while staying connected with friends, faculty and staff members at the University."
All free and discounted Young Alumni tickets must be claimed no later than Aug. 31, 2017.
All fans can pickup their season tickets, view seating options for new or upgraded tickets, and purchase single-game tickets this Wednesday, Aug. 2, at Mean Green Mania at Apogee Stadium from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. That will be the first day to pick up season tickets, and there are activities all day, including a visit from head coach Seth Littrell at noon and a happy hour from 4-6 p.m.
The Mean Green enter the 2017 season following a successful first year under head coach Seth Littrell, who led North Texas to its first bowl appearance since the 2013 season. North Texas improved in several key statistical categories under Littrell in 2016, as the Mean Green had the second-best turnaround in the Football Bowl Subdivision in terms of wins. North Texas improved its win total by four games, finishing 5-8 with a Zaxby's Heart of Dallas Bowl appearance. Littrell helped lead the Mean Green to a 9.6 points per game jump in scoring offense from their output in 2016, which ranked 11th-best in the nation, and the 2016 defense allowed 8.7 points per game fewer than they did in 2015, which was the 13th-best turnaround in the country.
The Mean Green kick off the 2017 season on Saturday, Sept. 2, at home against Lamar. Season tickets are on sale now and fans can purchase tickets through the North Texas Ticket Office.
