DENTON, Texas (7/31/09) - North Texas head football coach Todd Dodge and his wife Elizabeth hosted the fourth-annual football clinic for women Thursday night at the Mean Green Athletic Center. Football 201 is a program developed by the athletics department and the football coaching staff to help women get a behind the scenes look at the North Texas football program.
Over 100 women attended the event, which featured a question and answer session for the First Family of North Texas football.
Mean Green football players also held a fashion show to demonstrate the various types of workout and gameday equipment and apparel that the team will wear throughout the season. There was also a player panel made up of linebackers Tobe Nwigwe and Craig Robertson as well as offensive lineman Victor Gill and quarterback Riley Dodge, who answered more personal questions about their lives away from football.
Offensive coordinator Todd Ford and defensive coordinator Gary DeLoach gave demonstrations on how they prepare for the season and for games. Food and drink was served by additional members of the football team.
This is annually the first event of the season for North Texas football fans, as they prepare for the upcoming season. It is followed by the Kickoff Cookout and 5K fun run which takes place Saturday at the Athletic Center.
