Athlon Sports Has 10 NT Players On Preseason All-Conference Team

DENTON -- Athlon Sports named 10 North Texas football players to its 2015 Conference USA preseason all-conference team.

Named to the first team were center Kaydon Kirby, a Rimington Award Candidate, kicker Trevor Moore,  and wide receiver Carlos Harris, who enters the 2015 season with a chance to etch his named further into the record books in receiving yards, receptions and all-purpose yardage.

Kirby has started 25 straight games at North Texas while Moore was named a 2014 freshman All-America as he set a school record for field percentage (88.2 percent).

Wide Receiver Darvin Kidsy was named to the second-team as the punt returner. Tight end Marcus Smith was named to the third-team. Running back Jeffrey Wilson was named to the fourth-team.

Three North Texas defenders were named to the fourth team: defensive end Chad Polk, who led the Mean Green in sacks in 2014, linebacker Fred Scott and defensive back Kenny Buyers.


 

 

Punter Eric Keena, who had the third-highest single season punting average in school history in 2014, was also named to the fourth team.

This ties for the fourth-most players from North Texas selected in Conference USA.
