C-USA Announces Preliminary TV Schedule For 2018

June 7, 2018

IRVING, Texas – North Texas will have 11 of 12 football games broadcast nationally in 2018, Conference USA announced Thursday.

“We are excited about the potential exposure that this agreement brings for our football program, the athletics department and UNT as a whole,” Vice President and Director of Athletics Wren Baker said. “With 11 of our 12 games selected for national distribution, this will continue to expand our brand and should make it easy for our fans to follow us throughout the season.”

The current schedule features games to air nationally by all five of the league’s primary partners and every C-USA football game is expected to be available on traditional linear television or via streaming and social media.

North Texas’ season-opener on Sept.1 against Metroplex rival SMU kicks off at 6:30 p.m. CT live on Stadium, and will also be streamed live on Facebook Watch. Other nationally televised games include the Sept. 8 tilt against Incarnate Word on ESPN+, the non-conference road trip to Fayetteville to take on Arkansas on Sept. 15 on SEC Network Alternate.

The conference slate opens with back-to-back against Louisiana Tech and at UTEP on Sept. 29 and Oct. 6 that both kick off at 6:30 and will be broadcast on beIN Sports, while the Mean Green host Southern Miss Oct. 13 on ESPN3 at 1 p.m., travel to Birmingham on Oct. 20 to take on UAB on beIN Sports, host Rice on ESPN+ on Oct. 27 at 3 p.m., travel to Norfolk, Virginia, after the bye week to battle Old Dominion on Nov. 10 on ESPN3 before hosting the CBS Sports Network national game of the week on Thursday, Nov. 15 at 8:30 p.m. CT against defending C-USA champion, Florida Atlantic and wrap the regular season at UT San Antonio at 6 p.m. on Nov. 24 live on ESPN+.

The 2018 C-USA Championship game on Saturday, Dec. 1 will air on CBS Sports Network at a time to be determined.

ESPN is scheduled to carry all six of C-USA’s bowl games in which it has a guaranteed selection.

Additional Conference USA football broadcast exposures will be released as soon as they are finalized.

The Mean Green return nine offensive starters and eight defensive starters from one of the most successful teams in school history. North Texas won nine games in 2017, which was only the seventh time in 102 years of playing football that a team won nine games. Head coach Seth Littrell will begin his third season in 2018 after leading North Texas to consecutive bowl games in his first two years.

Season tickets for the 2018 season are on sale now and fans can purchase tickets through the Mean Green athletics ticket office by calling 940-565-2527 or 800-868-2366, or visiting MeanGreenSports.com.
