FAU Football Game Moved to Thursday Night for TV
Game Will Be Played On Thursday Night On CBS Sports Network
DENTON – Conference USA and CBS Sports Network have announced that they will broadcast the North Texas-Florida Atlantic football game from Apogee Stadium and the game has been moved to Thursday, Nov. 15. It will be CBS Sports Network’s national game of the week, with kickoff scheduled for 8:30 p.m. CT.
“We are excited to host the rematch of last year’s Conference USA Championship game at Apogee Stadium,” Vice President and Director of Athletics Wren Baker said. “Being able to showcase our beautiful campus and loyal fans to a national audience is a special occasion and we are eager for the opportunity.”
The Mean Green will meet FAU for the third time in just over 12 months after playing a regular season game in Boca Raton last October followed by the Conference USA Championship game in December. North Texas lost both of those games to FAU, which won its last 10 games of the season including a 50-3 win over Akron in the Cheribundi Tart Cherry Boca Raton Bowl. North Texas last played FAU in Denton in 2014, with the Mean Green winning that game 31-10.
The Mean Green return nine offensive starters and eight defensive starters from one of the most successful teams in school history. North Texas won nine games in 20017, which was only the seventh time in 102 years of playing football that a team won nine games. Head coach Seth Littrell will begin his third season in 2018 after leading North Texas to consecutive bowl games in his first two years.
