Mose Named To Rimington Watch List

May 30, 2018

DENTON - Mean Green center Sosaia Mose was named to the 2018 Spring Watch List for the Rimington Trophy, the selection committee announced Wednesday.

Mose, an all-conference honorable mention selection, appeared in 13 games last season for North Texas, starting 11. The Tyler Junior College product stabilized the center position for the Mean Green and helped pave the way for a rushing attack that rolled up 2,280 yards and scored 28 touchdowns. Mose helped lead an offensive line unit that improved upon its 2016 performance and helped the offense post record numbers in scoring, first downs, passing yardage and passing touchdowns.

The selection committee comprised its list by accepting nominations from programs across the country that submitted their current starting centers for consideration.

The Rimington Trophy committee uses the following all-american teams to determine its winner: the Walter Camp Foundation (WCF), the Sporting News (SN) and the Football Writers Association of America (FWAA).

The center with the most first team votes will be determined the winner. If there is a tie with first team votes, then the center with the most second team votes will win. If there is still a tie, the winner will be determined by a majority vote from the Rimington Trophy committee. The winner will be recognized at the Rimington Trophy Presentation at the Rococo Theatre in Lincoln, Nebraska on Saturday, January 12, 2019.
