DENTON – The North Texas football home opener against SMU on September 6 will be nationally televised by Fox Sports, and will kickoff at 11 a.m.
Conference USA has announced its preliminary television schedule for the 2014 football season and the Mean Green is slated for six national TV appearances this season. NT will open C-USA play against Louisiana Tech on Thursday night, September 11, on the CBS Sports Network at 7 p.m.
Fox College Sports will air the November 8 game when Florida Atlantic comes to Apogee Stadium, with kickoff set for 6 p.m. In addition, either FOX Sports 1 or FSN will air North Texas road games at Rice on October 25, UTEP on November 15 and at UTSA on November 29. A kickoff time has not been set for either game.
The 2014 football season marks the fourth year of a multi-platform media-rights agreement between Conference USA and FOX Sports to broadcast a minimum of 20 games. FOX Sports 1, FOX’s new national sports cable network, is scheduled to televise a minimum of 10 regular-season Conference USA football games.
Additional games will again be carried nationally on FOX Sports Networks owned-and-affiliated regional networks, which reach more than 85 million homes, and on FOX College Sports.
The 2014 C-USA championship game on Saturday, Dec. 6, is scheduled to air on either ESPN or ESPN 2. It marks the 10th straight year that the C-USA championship will air on the ESPN family of networks.
