Professional Development Opportunity Offered To Student-Athletes
DENTON -- The North Texas athletics department and the UNT Career Center teamed up to put on the Professional Etiquette Dinner last week in the HUB Club at Apogee Stadium.
"The Etiquette Dinner was a chance for our student-athletes to interact with other students, faculty, as well as employers in a great professional development opportunity," said Chris Evans, an academic counselor for the athletic department.
Sponsored by the UNT Career Center, the night's purpose was to promote professional development after college. Guests at the event included the honorable Chris Watts, the mayor of Denton, and former Mean Green football student-athlete Johnny Quinn.
The North Texas Life Skills Program invited junior and senior student-athletes to attend the dinner. The etiquette dinner is one of several events that the Life Skills Program helps put together through the school year to help student-athletes achieve success after graduation.
