DENTON (1/6/06) Four Mean Green student-athletes received their diplomas from the University of North Texas at the December graduation. On Saturday, Dec. 17, Amber Clearman, Beau Davidson, Dorota Klat and Derek Logan participated in their respective school’s graduation ceremonies.
Clearman was a four-year letterwinner with the volleyball team from 2001-04. She received her degree in marketing and was a four-time member of the Dean’s List and President’s List at North Texas. The Austin, Texas native recorded 509 digs in her career. The defensive specialist spent last spring studying abroad.
Davidson, who has spent the last two years with the football team, received his bachelor’s degree in kinesiology. He battled through injuries to become one of the top blocking tight ends in the Sun Belt Conference. Also a viable receiving threat, Davidson caught five passes over the last two seasons. He was named to the Athletic Director’s Honor Roll in the fall of 2003. The fall of 2006 will be his last year of eligibility with the football team.
Dorota Klat was a two-year letterwinner on the women’s basketball team. She received her degree in applied technology and performance improvement and was named to the All-Athletic Academic Team in 2004. She was also a four-time member of the Athletic Director’s Honor Roll and was named to the Dean’s List in the spring of 2004.
Derek Logan was a four-year letterwinner with the track team from 2002-2005. He received his degree in applied arts and sciences. As a senior, Logan was a key member of the Sun Belt Champion 4x100 and 4x400-meter relay teams and was a multi-event NCAA Regional qualifier. The Wichita Falls, Texas native qualified for the NCAA Regionals as a junior and senior. He was named to the Athletic Director’s Honor Roll in the fall of 2004.
