McClain Took Home Defensive Honors, While Wilson Earned Special Teams Recognition

2016:
• Second team C-USA All-Conference selection after being named Preseason All-Conference
• Leads the team with 86 total tackles (62 solo), had a career-high three interceptions and has three pass break-ups, one-and-a-half sacks, five-and-a-half tackles for loss and a forced fumble in 12 starts at safety for the Mean Green
• One of five team captains
• Recorded seven stops, one of which was for a loss at UTEP on 11/26
• Had eight tackles (five solo) in the win vs. Southern Miss on 11/19
• Recorded five stops and a pass breakup at WKU on 11/12
• Posted three tackles, a half of which was for loss vs. La Tech on 11/5
• Led the team with 10 total tackles (eight solo) and added a half sack and 1.5 tackles for loss at UTSA on 10/29

2015:

• Earned Conference USA Defensive Player of the Week with a 45-yard fumble return for a touchdown against UTSA, the team's first defensive touchdown of the season and the first fumble recovery for a touchdown since 2014
• Played in 12 games with 11 starts at free safety
• Led the team with 110 tackles, the second-most tackles by a safety in school history
• Combined with James Gray to become the first safety duo in school history to each record 100 total tackles
• Also recorded 2.5 tackles for loss, an interception, two forced fumbles, a fumble recovery, three pass break-ups and four passes defended
• Led the team in tackles against Rice, Southern Miss, Marshall, UTSA and UTEP, totaling a career-high 16 tackles against Rice.
 Finished with double-digit tackles in five different games, against Rice, Iowa, Marshall, UTSA and UTEP

2014:

• Was named to the Conference USA All-Freshmen Football team
• Saw action in all 12 games, recording 39 tackles, including 0.5 TFL and an interception
• Intercepted a Southern Miss pass and recorded nine tackles in his first collegiate start at North Texas


High School:

• Was a two-way player in high school, playing quarterback and safety. McClain will play safety at North Texas
• Was a two-time District 23-4A first-team selection as a quarterback his senior and junior season
• Named to Dave Campbell's Top 300 Recruits as one of the top-12 athletes in Texas
• As a senior McClain rushed for 876 yards and 16 touchdowns while throwing for 536 yards and eight TDs
• In 2012, he rushed for 1,576 yards and 19 touchdowns while throwing for 896 yards and passing for 12 TDs
