DENTON – The North Texas men’s basketball will look to continue its recent three-game winning streak with the final non-conference game of the season at Georgetown on Wednesday, Dec. 20, at 6 p.m. (CT) at the Capital One arena.

The matchup against the Hoyas will be shown live on FS2 with Bob Picozzi calling the play-by-play and Tarik Turner serving as the color analyst.

The Mean Green (7-5) snapped a seven-game road losing streak with an impressive 86-83 overtime win at San Diego on Dec. 16. Sophomore guard Roosevelt Smart scored a career-high 31 points and was one three-pointer shy of tying the school record with seven. Smart leads the team in scoring at 18.5 points per game and has scored 222 total points (42nd nationally), which is the most by a Mean Green player in the last 10 years in his first 12 games.

Sophomore guard Ryan Woolridge didn’t disappoint in his return to San Diego with 20 points, seven assists and six rebounds. Woolridge continues to run the offense leading the team with 55 assists and is third in rebounding at 5.3 boards per game.

Sophomore A.J. Lawson (10.9) and senior forward Shane Temara (10.9) give North Texas four players who average double-figures. Lawson scored 14 points and added nine rebounds against the Toreros.

It will be a homecoming for two North Texas players as juniors guard Allante Holston and Jorden Duffy are both from Maryland. Holston and Duffy grew up playing on the same AAU team.

The Mean Green will have seven days to prepare for Conference USA action starting at UTEP (Dec. 28) and at UTSA (Dec. 30).
