Combs Named C-USA Frosh of the Week After First Game
Freshman Earns Start, Pours In 17 Points In First Collegiate Game
DENTON – On Friday, Jeremy Combs started the first game of his collegiate career and tallied 17 points and nine rebounds – both game highs. On Monday, Conference USA rewarded the Dallas native with the league’s Freshman of the Week award.
The freshman also had a double-double (23 points, 11 rebounds) in exhibition play earlier in the week to cap off a terrific camp.
A two-time TABC All-State selection at Carter High School, Combs led all 4A players in the state of Texas with 811 total points (21.5 PPG) as a junior, and followed it up with averages of 21.2 points and a region-high 12.3 rebounds per game as a senior.
Combs and the Mean Green take on Nicholls State on Monday, Nov. 17, followed by Delaware State on Wednesday, Nov. 19 and Iona on Sunday, Nov. 23.
