DENTON - The North Texas men's basketball team travels to Lincoln, Nebraska for the first road contest of the season against Nebraska on Monday, Nov. 13 at 7 p.m. at Pinnacle Bank arena.

The game will be streamed online on the Big Ten network plus and a subscription is required. North Texas had an impressive season opener on Nov. 10 scoring 122 points, third-most in school history, in a 57-point win against Eureka College 122-65.

The Mean Green had six players in double-figures, including 23 points from sophomore newcomer Roosevelt Smart. Smart went 8-for-10 from the field and was 3-of-4 from the three-point line. Several North Texas player had solid debuts in freshman Umoja Gibson's 19 points and junior college transfer Jorden Duffy added 11 points off the bench.

Sophomore Ryan Woolridge continued where he left off last season, tying his career high with 21 points. Woolridge put his stamp on the game running the offense, grabbing seven rebounds and came away with five steals.

Head coach Grant McCasland's debut provided a glimpse of things to come becoming the ninth coach in Mean Green history to win his coaching debut. Only former North Texas coach Bill Blakeley scored more points in a debut with 125 points in 1975.

North Texas hasn't won a road opener since the 2008 season, when the Mean Green won in double-overtime at UT-Arlington, 101-99.

About the Opponent: Nebraska
• This will be the fifth meeting between the two teams Nebraska holds a 4-0 record and is 3-0 at home in the series.

• In the last meeting, Nebraska earned a 76-57 home victory on Nov. 29, 2006. Nebraska opened the game with an 18-2 run and never trailed. Former North Texas standout Calvin Watson led the team with 16 points and Michael Sturns added 11 points. That 2006-07 Mean Green team went on to win the Sun Belt and earned a trip to the NCAA Tournament.

• Nebraska opened their 2017-18 season with a victory against Eastern Illinois, 72-68, on Nov. 11. The Cornhuskers were trailing in the second half but came back to earn the home victory.

• Junior guard Glynn Watson, Jr. led the team with 21 points off 8-of-10 from the free throw line. Sophomore forward Isaiah Roby sparked the team off the bench with a double-double of 11 points and 13 rebounds. Roby also had six blocks in the victory. Junior transfer from Miami, James Palmer, Jr. added 12 points in a team-high 36 minutes.

• Nebraska struggled at the free throw line against Eastern Illinois going 23-for-39 as Evan Taylor missed five free throws and Palmer, Jr. missed four.
