Men's Basketball Is 39 Days Away From Its Season Opener On Nov. 11
DENTON -- The North Texas men's basketball team opened its first practice last Saturday as the eight returners from last season talked hoops with Mean Green productions.
North Texas only lost three players from last year's team and will return 90.6 percent of its scoring to lead Conference USA. The Mean Green will bring back 87.0 percent of their rebounding from a season ago and 90.3 percent of assists.
Three returners scored over 400 points in junior Jeremy Combs, seniors Deckie Johnson, and J-Mychal Reese. Sophomore Rickey Brice Jr. led the team with 36 blocks last season and classmate Ja'Michael Brown had the best three-point percentage at .393.
Also returning are sophomores Allante Holston (31 games played), Khalil Fuller (31 games played), and junior Greg White-Pittman (30 games played).
The Mean Green open the 2016-17 season against Sul Ross State on Friday, Nov. 11 at 7 p.m. inside the Super Pit.
