Additional TV Opportunities Remain For North Texas Hoops In 2014-15
DENTON - The North Texas men's basketball home games against Creighton and UTSA will be televised across the country by Fox Sports Network.
Tipoff against national hoops powerhouse Creighton is slated for Dec. 21 at 1 p.m. CT, while the matchup with C-USA rival UTSA will take place on Jan. 4 at 3:30 p.m. CT.
Additional television opportunities remain for the 2013-14 basketball season, and North Texas is expected to be notified about those games in the coming weeks.
The Bluejays advanced to the NCAA Tournament's third round in each of the last three seasons, and finished their 2013-14 campaign with 27 wins and the National Player of the Year award for senior Doug McDermott, who went No. 11 in the 2014 NBA Draft.
Creighton leads the all-time series with North Texas, 5-4, but the Mean Green is 2-0 against the Bluejays in Denton. The last matchup in Denton saw NT win a thriller, 108-105, on Feb. 26, 1977. No. 16-ranked Creighton took the last game in the series, 71-51, in Omaha, Neb., to open the 2012-13 season.
The Mean Green has won the last four, and six of the last seven meetings with its former Southland Conference rival UTSA. Last season, Jordan Williams powered North Texas to a 71-62 win while scoring his 1,000th career point against the Roadrunners.
