Jordan Williams Officially Signs With BBL's Cheshire Phoenix

DENTON – Former North Texas men’s basketball student-athlete Jordan Williams has signed his first professional contract to play for Cheshire Phoenix in the British Basketball League.

Williams, a Dallas native, becomes the 13th active former North Texas player to continue playing professionally.

“I am really excited and proud that Jordan will continue to play basketball after signing to play professionally,” head coach Tony Benford said. “He will have a great impact on their team and will have an outstanding professional career. Jordan has been a great ambassador for the University of North Texas and our basketball program the past few years.”

Williams was a four-year standout for the Mean Green ending his career with the ninth highest scoring total in school history with 1,501 career points. He also finished with 117 career steals which is fifth best in school history. As a senior this past season, he led the team in scoring (14.7), assists (2.1) and steals (1.5).

Williams posted five 20-point games this past season, including 23 points at Old Dominion and at Marshall. He finished his career having played in 114 games and made 95 career starts.
