DENTON, Texas - North Texas head basketball coach Tony Benford has announced the signing of Louisiana Sportswriters Association Class 5A MVP Greg White-Pittman to a National Letter of Intent.
"We're extremely excited to have Greg join our Mean Green family," Benford said. "He's a great character kid who comes from a tremendous family. Scott Monarch has done a great job of recruiting Greg for the last few months, and we expect him to make a great addition. Greg can play the point or shooting guard positions, and he will see the floor right away. He has an unmatched ability to score the basketball and create opportunity for his teammates, and he's a solid defender. Offensively, he is a scoring threat at all three levels: from 3-point, midrange, and he can finish at the rim."
White-Pittman (click here to see his high school video highlights) joins Mean Green great Josh White, the 2007 LSWA Class 1A MVP from Baton Rouge's Christian Life Academy, as recent North Texas basketball signees with Louisiana state MVP honors on their resume. He also joins fellow signee Jeremy Combs, the Texas 2013 4A scoring champ, as state scoring leaders on the North Texas roster this fall.
