WATCH: Highlights From Voss' NFL Workout

April 29, 2015

Mean Green basketball standout Colin Voss recently worked out for the Miami Dolphins and Kansas City Chiefs at Apogee Stadium.

The former all-state tight end at East Grand Rapids High School in Grand Rapids, Mich., won four straight state titles and was considered one of the Midwest's top college prospects. However, basketball proved Voss' passion, and he took a scholarship offer to play hoops at Central Michigan.

Voss found his way to North Texas for his junior season, and he quickly became one of the steadiest forwards in C-USA. As a senior he ranked 47th in the nation among all players 6-7 or taller with 1.9 assists per game, and he averaged 8.0 points and 5.8 rebounds per game.

Last Wednesday, Voss posted 18 reps of 225 pounds on the bench press, and ran a 5.11 in the 40-yard dash. He was smooth in the 3-cone drill, and caught every ball thrown his way by current Mean Green point guard Todd Eaglin, who was an all-state quarterback in high school.
