Mean Green Basketball Hosts Special Abilities of North Texas
DENTON, Texas – The North Texas men’s and women’s basketball teams partnered with Special Abilities of North Texas on Tuesday to host a basketball clinic for those with disabilities and special needs.
Women’s coach Mike Petersen and men’s coach Tony Benford led fun and informative drills, and spoke to the Special Abilities group at the Ken Bahnsen Center, on the campus of the University of North Texas.
“We are thrilled with this partnership with North Texas basketball,” said Troy Greisen, President and CEO of Special Abilities of North Texas. “Our many clients and students with special needs are very capable of achieving success in life and with these inclusive opportunities so much can be gained. There is no greater need for a community than to provide for its citizens with disabilities. And there is no greater time now to provide for that need. This partnership will further support the urgent cause and efforts of Special Abilities of North Texas.”
Special Abilities of North Texas strives to provide the highest quality care, training and support to adults with special needs, giving them opportunities to succeed in life, family and the community while offering respite to their caregivers.
