DENTON - North Texas men's basketball head coach Grant McCasland added two more student-athletes to his 2017-18 recruiting class. Guards Umoja Gibson (Waco) and Michael Miller (Shawnee Community College), signed their National Letters of Intent to join the North Texas basketball program next season.

Umoja Gibson
Gibson played four seasons at University High School in Waco. Gibson had a breakout senior season averaging 22.4 points per game and 11.1 assists per game. He helped University make history with the program's first-ever No. 1 state ranking and was named Super Centex Player of the Year by the Waco Tribune. Gibson was selected to the 2017 Tribune-Herald Super Centex first team and according to TexasHoops.com is the No. 27 ranked player in Texas.

McCasland on Gibson: "I have had the chance to watch Mo grow the last few years and we are really excited he decided to join our program. He loves to be in the gym and has a competitive mindset. When you combine those two characteristics, you have a chance to continue to improve and be a great player."

Michael Miller
Miller played two seasons for Shawnee Community College and averaged 14.3 points per game in 2016-17. He posted three double-doubles on the season, and averaged six rebounds per game as a guard.
