Hall of Fame Induction, Green-White Game Set For April 23

Former offensive lineman Scott Bowles will be inducted into the North Texas Athletics Hall of Fame on April 23.

DENTON - The annual North Texas Athletics Hall of Fame induction luncheon and the Green-White spring football game will take place this year on April 23 at Apogee Stadium.

In addition to the Hall of Fame ceremonies and spring game, the day's activities include the #Dentonmeansbusiness 5K and Fun Run and the Mean Green Garage Sale.

Admission the Green-White scrimmage, which will give fans their first glimpse of the team under first-year head coach Seth Littrell, is free. Tickets for the Hall of Fame induction and buffet lunch are $20 for individual seats or $150 for an eight-person table.

The Hall of Fame ceremonies will take place in Apogee's Hub Club. Doors to the Hub Club will open at 10 a.m. and the luncheon and induction ceremony will begin at 11 a.m.

The 2015 Hall of Fame class consists of four members of the North Texas All-Century Football Team: John Baker, Scott Bowles, Andy Brewster and Jonas Buckles, and men's basketball player Pat Hicks and men's golfer Dick Whetzle. Three individuals are being honored as recipients of the Fred McCain Award: Jim McNatt, Jerome “Bruzzy” Westheimer and Brint Ryan.

The Green-White scrimmage begins at 2 p.m., and those attending the Hall of Fame ceremony can watch the game from the Hub Club. The gates to the stadium will open for the game at 1 p.m.

The Mean Green Garage Sale will take place at 1 p.m. in the Apogee Stadium concourse area inside Gate 2 on the west side of the stadium. The sale features new and slightly used surplus athletic apparel and equipment, including Nike jerseys, shoes, cleats, practice apparel, t-shirts, shorts, gloves, polos and more. All sales are final but items are also priced to move. Cash, debit and credit cards are all acceptable means of payment.
