Free Student Tickets Available For C-USA Championships
First 1,000 Students With Valid ID Get In To UNT Men's, Women's Games
DENTON - Thanks to generous donors to the Mean Green Scholarship Fund, the first 1,000 North Texas students with valid UNT student ID will be given free tickets to Conference USA Basketball Championships sessions in which the Mean Green men’s or women’s teams are playing.
The first 100 students who pick up tickets will be given priority floor seating.
The Conference USA Basketball Championships, presented by Baylor Scott & White Sports Performance Center, take place March 7-10 at The Ford Center at The Star in Frisco. The North Texas men and women open the tournament on Wednesday, the women at 2 p.m. against Charlotte and the men at 8:30 p.m. against Louisiana Tech.
"This is the time of year that makes college basketball special," North Texas men's head coach Grant McCasland said. "March Madness is a unique experience, and our fans and students have a great opportunity to drive right down the road to see us play for potential conference championship and NCAA Tournament bid. Students having the chance to get free tickets to an event at a world-class facility this close to campus should make it an easy decision. Come on out, wear green, bring your spirit and let’s make a run."
To obtain the student tickets, UNT students must present their valid ID at The Star. North Texas will have a ticket-office table near the will-call entrance of the lobby of The Star.
Students who wish to attend sessions in which North Texas is not playing can purchase tickets for $10 via the links below.
Fans would who like to send students to games that aren’t free can make a contribution here.
The Ford Center at The Star is an indoor athletic facility shared by the Dallas Cowboys, the City of Frisco and Frisco ISD high schools. The Star, which is the Dallas Cowboys headquarters, is located at One Cowboys Way in Frisco. Two basketball courts are being constructed in the Ford Center for the tournament.
