DENTON – The North Texas men’s basketball team will finish its road season at Florida Atlantic on Saturday, Feb. 24, at FAU arena with tip-off set for 6 p.m. (CT).

The Mean Green are coming off another close call with a one-point loss, 69-68, at FIU on Feb. 22. North Texas is 14-14 overall and 7-8 in Conference USA games. UNT has lost five Conference games by one possession.

Sophomore Ryan Woolridge finished with 18 points and grabbed nine rebounds in the loss at FIU. Woolridge has scored in double-figures in five-straight games and has played the full 40 minutes in three of his last four games.

Junior forward Tope Arikawe earned his second start of the season and produced 12 points with eight rebounds against the Panthers. Arikawe has earned both of his starts against FIU.

The Mean Green is closing in on a school record for most three-pointers made during a single-season after hitting 10 in the road loss at FIU. North Texas is tied for second all-time at 226, which is 24 away from tying the 250-mark set by the 1997-98 team.

About the Opponent: Florida Atlantic

• This will be the 16th meeting between the two teams with North Texas leading 12-3. The Mean Green are 4-2 in games played in Boca Raton. North Texas has won seven in a row in the series.

• In the previous meeting, North Texas defeated Florida Atlantic, 59-53, on Jan. 25, 2018. A.J. Lawson scored 18 points and Ryan Woolridge had 12 points, seven rebounds and seven assists. FAU’s Ronald Delph finished with 21 points and 10 rebounds.

• In the last meeting in Boca Raton, North Texas earned a 70-64 win on Feb. 9, 2017. Former Mean Green player J-Mychal Reese scored 21 points, including 14 in the second half, and grabbed nine rebounds. Shane Temara added 18 points with nine rebounds.

• Florida Atlantic is 11-16 overall with a 5-10 Conference USA record. The Owls lost in overtime 79-76 on a buzzer-beater against Rice on Feb. 22. FAU has lost five of the last six games. FAU is 2-6 in C-USA home games.

• Ronald Delph leads the team in scoring at 14.2 points per game and in rebounding at 8.7 boards per game. Delph is fourth in the league in rebounding. Justin Massey and Gerdarius Troutman both are averaging 12.9 points per game. Troutman has hit a team-best 69 three-pointers.

• FAU is second in the C-USA in offensive rebounds at 11.6 per game. The matchup against North Texas will feature two of the top teams defending the three-point line. The Owls are third in 3-point field goal defense (33.8) and North Texas (33.0) is second in the C-USA.
