DENTON -- The North Texas men’s basketball team will end a two-game road swing Saturday, Feb. 13 against Charlotte at Halton Arena airing on the American Sports Network at 3 p.m. (CT).

The Mean Green enters with a 9-15 overall record and is 4-7 in conference action. North Texas is coming off a tough 67-47 road loss at Old Dominion Thursday night. NT held a three point halftime lead holding ODU to its second lowest halftime total of the season (21 points).

Three players finished in double figures with sophomore Jeremy Combs earning his eighth double-double against conference opponents. Combs finished with 10 points and grabbed 12 rebounds in the loss. Junior Deckie Johnson added 11 points and classmate J-Mychal Reese chipped in with 11 points.

Combs leads the team in scoring at 15.3 points per game and in rebounding at 10.6 per game. The Dallas native is 13th in the nation in rebounds per game and 12th in total rebounds (255). Reese is second on the team in scoring at 14.7 points per game and leads the team in assists at 4.0 per game (97 total). Johnson is third at 13.8 points per game and has hit a team best 51 made three pointers.

As a team, North Texas is 64th in the nation in field goal percentage (46.4), 14th in free throw attempts (644) and 78th in free throws made (401).

The Mean Green return home to host a pair of Florida schools starting with Florida Atlantic University Thursday, Feb. 18 at 7 p.m. inside the Super Pit.

About the Opponent: Charlotte

• This will be the sixth meeting between the two teams with the first meeting coming on Dec. 28, 1974. The Mean Green won the previous meeting at the Super Pit last season 81-65.

• In the last meeting, North Texas won its fifth straight game with a wire-to-wire victory against Charlotte, 81-65. The Mean Green had four players in double figures with former standout Jordan Williams leading the way with 17 points and five rebounds. NT went nine of 17 from the three point line to cruise to victory.

• Charlotte sits seventh in the C-USA with a 9-15 overall record and is 5-6 in league play. The 49ers are 5-2 in the last seven games and are coming off a comeback win at home against Rice, 102-73. Charlotte scored 66 second half points and tied a school record with 17 made three pointers (12 in the second half).

• Charlotte is led by Braxton Ogbueze who is averaging 13.0 points per game. The 49ers have four others averaging 10 points or more per game. Senior Joseph Uchebo leads the C-USA in rebounding at 11.5 rebounds per game. Uchebo has earned nine straight double-doubles and leads the C-USA with 12 overall. The 49ers have hit 189 made three pointers.
