The Super Pit, Denton, Texas

Up next: The North Texas men host Florida International Saturday, February 9, at the Super Pit. Game time is 7 p.m.

Thursday night's loss was the fifth in a row for North Texas, its first five-game losing streak since the 2008-09 season. Two of those 08-09 losses were in overtime, and the streak ended with a triple-OT victory.

No player for either team reached double-figure scoring until Tony Mitchell hit a pair of free throws with 16:55 to play in the second half, giving him 10 points for the game.

Niko Stojiljkovic was shaken up on a hard fall when he was knocked down a drive to the basket in the first half, but was able to return to the game with 11:17 left in the game.

Mitchell had no blocks Thursday night, just his second game this year without at least one shot block, but had his 17th career double-double with 14 points and 13 rebounds.
