The Mean Green wins its second straight game and improves to 14-7 and 5-5 in the Sun Belt, while FIU falls to 6-15 and 3-8 in the conference.
Josh White scored 16 points, going 7-for-9 from the free-throw line. With
Keith Wooden scored only six points in the game, but he made them when
White hit two three-pointers back-to-back in the final two minutes of the first half, giving
Russell Hicks led FIU on a 21-11 run to start off the second half. Hicks scored 12 points in the run which tied the game at 43-43. Hicks scored 16 of his 18 points in the second half. Neither team led by more then three points following the 43-43 tie at the 11:13 mark in the second half.
Thompson joined White in double figures with 11 points. He went 7-for-7 from the free-throw line. Thirteen of NT’s 28 points in the second half were from the charity stripe.
