DENTON – The North Texas men’s basketball team has had a couple extra days to prepare for its road game at Rice on Saturday, Jan. 13, at 2 p.m. at Tudor Fieldhouse.

The Mean Green (9-8, 2-2 C-USA) are hoping to continue their recent solid play on the road after dropping two home games last weekend to Charlotte (70-68) and Old Dominion (63-60). North Texas has played four-straight Conference USA games decided by three points or less for the first time in school history.

Sophomore Ryan Woolridge dished out a career-high 11 assists against Charlotte and finished with 13 points and six assists against ODU. Woolridge is second on the team in scoring at 12.8 points per game and has handed out 87 assists. Sophomore Roosevelt Smart leads the team in scoring at 18 points per game and is 14th nationally in three-pointer made at 55. Smart is 35 three-pointers away from tying the school record set by Calvin Watson during the 2006-07 season.

Junior Jorden Duffy scored 11 points off the bench against ODU and has played in 14 games for the Mean Green. Duffy is third on the team with 18 three-pointers made. Senior Shane Temara will look to bounce back against Rice after being held to two points against ODU.

North Texas will continue its road trip by heading to Ruston, Louisiana to take on LA Tech on Thursday, Jan. 18, at 6:30 p.m. broadcasted on the Stadium network.
