WACO, Texas (11/13/10) - North Texas Cross Country completed the 2010 season at the NCAA South Regional on Saturday morning.
Senior Patrick Strong did as he has all season, by becoming the first overall Mean Green runner over the line.
Strong ran a 31:56.6 10K race, which put him in 29th in the South Central Region. Two other men's athletes made appearances in Waco, Adrian Nevarez and matt Russ.
Russ finished in 82nd place with a 10K time if 33:02.8 while Nevarez crossed the line two places later in 84th with a time of 33:07.7.
On the women's side, junior Ingrid Mollenkopf was the highest North Texas finisher yet again, when she rolled across the line in 21:40.6 for 40th place.
The only other competitor in the field for the Mean Green was Sara Dietz, who finished in 68th place with a time of 22:19.2.
North Texas will start the indoor track season January 15, 2011, in College Station, Texas for the Texas A&M Conference Challenge.
