DENTON, Texas (11/11/10) - North Texas Cross Country will head to the NCAA South Central Regional on Saturday morning being hosted by Baylor at Cottonwood Creek Golf Course in Waco, Texas.
The Mean Green, who finished sixth in both the men's and women's races at the Sun Belt Championships, will send four athletes to compete.
Senior Patrick Strong and freshman Adrian Nevarez will represent the men, while junior's Ingrid Mollenkopf and Sara Dietz will be running for the women.
Strong and Mollenkopf were the top finishers for North Texas in each race they ran this season for their respective genders and are join by Dietz as the three All-Sun Belt Conference members for 2010.
The women's race will begin at 10 a.m. and will be a 6,000 meter race, while the men will run their longest race of the season thus far, a 10,000 meter race that will start at 11 a.m.
In order to qualify for the NCAA Championships, the Mean Green runners will have to be one of the top four finishers that is not on an advancing team.
The NCAA Cross Country Championships will be hosted on November 22, 2010 in Terre Haute, Ind.
