Cross Country Team Sends Five to NCAA Regional Meet

The Mean Green Cross Country Team will send five runners to the NCAA South Central Regional Meet this Saturday at Baylor University in Waco, TX.

The Mean Green women will be represented at the regional meet by Jill Brennan, Dagmar Salazar, Jordan Skelton and Cassie Storms.

Brennan received all-conference honors after her fourth place finish at the SBC Championships. She also posted the season’s fastest time of 18:32 at the UALR Open, the seventh fastest 5k run in school history. Brennan had the top finish for the Mean Green in every race this season, including four top 10’s.

Salazar is coming off a 20th place finish at the conference championships in a time of 20:00. Salazar has four top 25 finishes including a sixth place finish at the Mean Green Invitational.

Storms wasn’t far behind Salazar at the conference meet, finishing 24th with a time of 20:16. Storms also has four top 25 finishes this year, with a top time of 20:17.

Skelton finished 40th at the SBC Championships in 21:20. Skelton’s highest finish of the year was a 15th place finish at the Mean Green Invitational.

Justin Kauffman will be the lone representative at the regional meet for the Mean Green men's side. Kauffman earned all-conference honors for his 10th place finish at the Sun Belt Conference Championships in Little Rock.


He also posted the team’s fastest time of the year, a 25:40 8k run at the Lamar Invitational. Kauffman had a top 10 finish in four of the five meets this season, including two third place finishes.
