Men's Cross Country Ranked 9th In South Central Region

DENTON, Texas - The North Texas men’s cross-country team ranked ninth in the South Central Region in the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association’s (USTFCCCA) Division I Regional Rankings, released Monday.

The team emerged from a previous 15th ranking after a successful weekend in Arkansas at the Chile Pepper festival, where the Mean Green finished in fourth place out of 14 teams.

Rice is the only Conference USA team currently ranked ahead in the region. The Owls will face the Mean Green at the upcoming championships.

North Texas will host the first championship of the newly realigned Conference USA, when it hosts the 2013 Men’s and Women’s Cross Country Championships on Nov. 2 at Eagle Point Cross Country Course in Denton. The men’s 8K race Begins at 9 a.m. and the women’s 5K starts at 10 a.m.
