DENTON (9/30/04) North Texas Cross Country returns home this Friday to host the 27th Annual Mean Green Invitational. Races will begin at 3 pm at the Eagle Point Campus.
Competing teams include Baylor; Arkansas (women); Tarleton State; Texas A&M Commerce; Southeastern Oklahoma and Henderson State (women).
Men's Update Frank Ngeno, Matt Gieringer and Justin Kaufmann all claimed top 10 finishes for the Mean Green as the team took second place at the UALR Open in Little Rock, Ark last week. Ngeno once again led the Mean Green with a third-place finish. His time of 26:09 is nine seconds faster than his last meet in an 8k event. Not far behind was Gieringer, who ran a 26:26 and finished in fifth.
Women's Update Anchored by Jill Brennan’s fourth-place finish, the Mean Green ran away with first place at the UALR Open in Little Rock, Ark last week. Brennan’s time of 18:32 is the seventh fastest time in school history for a 5k race. Two weeks ago, Brennan notched the school’s 14th fastest time with a 19:01. Dagmar Salazar just missed the top 10 in the field of 69, running a 19:41 and claiming 11th place, her highest finish of the season.

Directions to UNT Eagle Point Campus
The course is located on the former Eagle Point Golf Course, site of the NCAA South Central Regional for many years, and the site of the first 24 additions of the UNT Invitational. The course is located adjacent to the Radisson Hotel. Take the North Texas Blvd. exit from I-35, and go west. The starting area/finish line is on the north (opposite from in the past) side of the Radisson Hotel, adjacent to Bonnie Brae Street.
