Cross Country To Host Ken Garland Invitational

DENTON, Texas - The North Texas cross country squads will return to action when they play host at the Ken Garland Invitational Saturday morning at the course behind the Waranch Tennis Complex.

"It's going to be a nice little meet," said head coach Sam Burroughs. "Trey Askew, our North Texas facilities guy, did an excellent job grooming the course out. I'm really looking forward to the collegiate debut of FR Elyssa Garcia as well."

Teams competing in both the men's and women's races are Tarleton and Letourneau, while Paul Quinn will send a men's team and SMU will add a women's to complete each field at four teams.

The Mean Green is trying to rebound from a tough outing last time out.

Patrick Strong registered a second place finish at the UTA Season Opener two weeks ago, but the men finished fifth as a team with 122 points.

The women saw similar results with Ingrid Mollenkompf crossing the line in 11th, but also finished fifth overall as a team with 144 points.

There will be no charge for admission for the fans that wish to attend the Ken Garland Invitational.  The schedule below will be a rolling schedule.
