Mean Green Men Tie For Second At NT Invitational
DENTON (9/9/06) - The North Texas men's cross country team tied TCU for a second place finish in the 29th annual North Texas Invitational meet, which featured regional powers such as TCU and UTA and nationally ranked Baylor.
Senior Frank Ngeno earned a top-ten finish placing eighth with a time of 20:48.95. Following close behind him in 12th and 13th place were veterans Billy Giano and Josh Rogers.
The women’s cross country team finished fifth. Leading the
Baylor’s men and women teams swept both team titles.
“I was pleased with the way that we ran on both sides today,” Head coach Rick Watkins said, “The men had a good team showing and I was happy that Frank had a top-ten finish. The thing I was most pleased with was that we were able to go out and compete with good competition. We still have a lot to work on but I like the way we’re progressing.”
The Mean Green are back in action Saturday, Sept. 23 at the University of Arkansas-Little Rock Open.
