29th Annual North Texas Invitational To Take Place Saturday

DENTON (9/8/06) - The Mean Green cross country teams are back in action this weekend as the 29th annual North Texas Invitational takes place Saturday morning from the Eagle Point Campus. North Texas is coming off a successful opening weekend at the Bear Relays and look to build momentum early in the season.

Seniors Frank Ngeno and Josh Rogers combined for a top 10 finish in the opening meet of the season. On the women's side the duo of Jill Brennan and Phanice Orora led North Texas in the season opener last week. 

The meet, the longest running event host by North Texas, will feature teams from Baylor, TCU, UTA, and Oklahoma State.

The men will have a four-mile race beginning at 9 a.m. while the women will race two-miles with a start time of 9:30 a.m. 

The North Texas Invitational will take place at the Eagle Point Campus adjoining the North Texas Athletics Center on S. Bonnie Brae Street this Saturday. The event is free to the public.
